This is the system most Irish schools run their compliance training on today. It works until it doesn’t — and doesn’t usually means a Friday afternoon when an inspector asks for the records.

Ark Academy curates the catalogue, hosts the runtime, sends the reminders, and logs every action server-side. Your spreadsheet stops being your defence.

08 · Why this matters

EU data residency isn’t a nice-to-have for Irish schools — it’s a procurement gate.

Every byte of customer data lives in the EU. Postgres, object storage, application traffic, transactional email — all region-pinned to Frankfurt or Ireland. No fallback to US regions in normal operation, no exceptions.

We built our own SCORM 1.2 runtime so we don’t hand your training data to a third-party vendor based outside the EU. The audit log is generated server-side, on the same Postgres instance as your assignments — not bolted on later.
